Free Headline News

The Free Headline News section is now better than we could have imagined. There are hundreds of news topics to help you find the information you need. To emphasize the breadth and depth of our updated news services, it seemed like a good idea to list the topics we feature in this post--but it took several pages of space, so just browse the news section index and you'll get the idea. It is all free to read and search!

More Reviews

Recently, this blog reported that visitor reviews of products and sites are being phased into the Do The Research site. In order to help you find the information you need, this post is written to let to know about some other new and popular ways to access web site reviews. They've just been added to our find and investigate businesses section and it seemed appropriate to blog them as well ...

To read and write web site reviews ...

About Us

Writing this blog and working on revising the site has provided time to reflect on the site and also to write about it. That work has been applied to a good cause; DoTheResearch now has an about us section. The section has a lot of the information presented in this blog, which offers more detail. Here's what it says ...

When Do The Research was first conceptualized in 1998, it was called Online Research Enterprise (O.R.E.) and the site's purpose was to do the research for people who were overwhelmed by the amount of information becoming available online and new technologies. The idea was to "mine" readily available online information in order to help people. (Get it? O.R.E., mine, gold-themed site?) Later, the site became research4you.com and, eventually, Do The Research.

With time, many of the online information searches that DoTheResearch custom research services were designed to help with became unnecessary. Web programming advanced and excellent sites were developed to fill voids and meet important information needs. (If we'd only invested more in some of the ideas we had while doing research!)

The popular travel and fun sections (which both started as support for the "relax" in the motto "Relax, we'll do the research for you.") continued to attract countless visitors. The site grew as ideas about how to support the site's mission, "helping you find the information you need", came to light, and several new sections were added. The site took on a hodgepodge feel, losing some of its focus.

Yes, Do The Research still offers custom online research services--but we are more likely to refer you to a site that provides quick and automated information related to the research topic. That's how many of our site sections came into existence.

In April, 2005, Do The Research took on a new vision--sort of. An updated theme that reflected the site was published on the new site news blog, "Do The Research offers free resources to help you find the information you need and the activities you enjoy."

For more detailed information about the site, which is being updated and revised constantly, please visit the site news blog. You'll find discussions of the topics mentioned above and much more. Afterwards, please send ideas, suggestions, questions, and feedback to email@DoTheResearch.com.

Custom Research Services Restored

The custom research services section of the site has been restored. Once again, there is a way for you to request custom research at Do The Research. The introduction to the section presents an overview of the history of these services and, therefore, the site. To answer the FAQ, then, yes, Do The Research still offers custom research online services and does the research for you.

Way Cool Wayback

Check out this fun find! Old versions of the DoTheResearch site are available online from both research4you.com and DoTheResearch.com. The find was a reminder that the new site needed an about us section as well as an updated custom research services section. Both sections will have similar "way cool wayback" fun facts, the text of which will be posted here shortly.

Free Food Recipes

Our cooking section is now better than ever!

The cooking section started out as an add-on to our travel section in that enjoying international foods could help people remember and dream of great travel. Soon, its popularity led to it being added to our fun section and, shortly thereafter, to it being a full resource with its own section. Although our original recipe supplier has had some ups and downs, we have worked to make sure that our visitors continued to receive the recipes information they want.

In addition to all of our great free international recipes and recipes for all types of food, we now have top quality free daily recipes from Living Cookbook. These free daily recipes include a featured daily recipe, a daily breakfast recipe, a daily dessert recipe, a daily vegetarian recipe, a daily low carb recipe, and a daily low fat recipe. There's also a wonderful new featured themed menu provided by World Wide Recipes, which provides an excellent, free recipe email service. Click here to visit our cooking section now.

Note: On some browsers, using our new navigation menus temporarily hide the content of some of the recipes; the recipes will reappear when your mouse isn't over the menu.

Recipes - Cooking Update Part 1

Our cooking section recipes supplier is having technological difficulties. Not to worry, we have found a ton of great new content and also are working to make the recipes section much easier to navigate in spite of their issues. So, the update of the find romance section is temporarily delayed--but stay tuned for the new versions of both sections soon!

What's next?

Well, it's been a while in between posts, so it's time for an explanation. The next section of the site to be updated will be the find romance section. The history of this popular section will be discussed when the revision is completed. A quick look at the section will show that it's time for an update. There are hundreds of online dating sites out there, so obtaining the information for this section--doing the research for you--takes a some time. Soon, there will be a directory similar to the ones for insurance and legal issues. After all, isn't finding friends, romance, and love important information many people need?

Updated - Find and Investigate People

The find and investigate people section of Do The Research has been thoroughly updated. It has the new, easy to navigate format, new resources have been added, and outdated listings are gone. The section clearly fits into the Do The Research theme of helping people find the information they need. In fact, it was started because visitors indicated they wanted help finding and investigating people. The new section's directory features resources to find people and investigate people, as well as genealogy resources to help find and research relatives. With these resources, we're sure you'll find the people and information you need. Click here to start your people search or investigation now.

Tip: Don't overlook the value of conducting a simple web search, such as a google search, in finding or investigating people; click here to try that first. Also, if you want private investigation services, you'll need someone local; start with a yellow pages search.

Find Help with Legal Issues

An update of the legal issues section has been completed. If you're looking to find a well-matched attorney, need legal assistance in forming a new company or trademark, or, as many people seem to be, just need well-written legal forms and documents, we have the resources to help you find what you need. The section is now titled "Find Legal Services, Legal Documents, and Legal Forms" and includes a directory of a variety of sites that assist people with legal matters. For the most part, the sites we list in this directory were started in order to provide quality, convenient, thorough, and affordable assistance with specific legal issues needs. The section has our new site reviews and menu features to help make sure you find what you're looking for. Click here to find help with legal issues now.

Read and Write Reviews

An option to read and write reviews of web sites and products listed at Do The Research is being tested. Site visitors usually do not give much feedback about our listings, but it's something that has the potential to be useful, so it will gradually be added to the site and we'll see if people write reviews. Try out the new reviews feature at the section to help you find or investigate businesses, the section to help you comparison shop for insurance services, and the section to help you address legal issues (which is currently being updated). If you'd like to review the reviews feature, or anything in this blog, post comments! Please remember to share your opinion in a review regardless of how positive (and hopefully not negative) your experience with a web site or product has been.
