United States Immigration and Citizenship Assistance

As part of the ongoing efforts to expand our legal-related resources section, a new sub-section has been added. This section, on US immigration and citizenship assistance, focuses on legitimate, well-respected companies that offer help--including several excellent and affordable do it yourself kits for obtaining visas, green cards, citizenship, and more. We know this is vital information for those who need it. Therefore, we made an effort to carefully screen the resources we feature and avoid many green card lottery sites (which often charge excessive money for minimal services). The two resources that we have permission to link to so far are The American Immigration Center and The American Immigration Network. Click here to visit the legal-related resources section and learn more about them.

More Help with Legal Issues

As we've hinted in previous posts, there have been several resources added to our legal resources section. Now, it's even easier to find the legal-related services, documents, forms, and information you need. Due to growth, we now have a range of excellent resources in each of our sections--legal services, legal forms and documents, trademark-related services, incorporation- and llc-formation related services, copyright- and property rights-related services, and DNA testing services.

That's right, we now can help you find legally valid DNA testing services. We'll have more information about other DNA-related resources soon. For now, check out GeneTree's services or click here for our directory information about DNA testing for legal purposes such as crime evidence and paternity tests.

We've also added a new special feature, a legal research resources search. This new search will help you conduct legal research by selecting from and searching with more than 500 legal search engines and search tools. You'll find information from state and federal resources--including information about cases, court opinions, codes, statutes, bills, and more.

One other new addition deserves a little extra attention here (even though many other equally excellent resources have been added). Online divorces have become popular in undisputed cases because they are much less hassle and much less expensive. We now are proud to have permission to link to a leader in online divorce specialists, CompleteCase. Click here to visit their site or click here for our resource directory information.

Find and Research Doctors, Hospitals, and Nursing Homes

We just received permission to feature a resource we know our site visitors want. In fact, we think it could be so important and useful to some visitors that we're blogging it before we add it to the site. Others agree, Yahoo Internet Life declared it one of the 50 "Most Incredibly Useful Sites". You can tell it's a match for our site when we let you know it will be part of three key site sections--the find or investigate businesses, find or investigate people, and upcoming health help resources sections. Here is the information you need about a resource that helps you find and research doctors, hospitals, and nursing homes ...

Research Reports
HealthGrades provides reports on nursing homes, hospitals, and doctors. They have research reports about more than 15000 nursing homes that include information about inspections, complaints, recurring problems and more. They also have research reports about more than 5000 hospitals that include ratings, costs, safety records, awards, and more. Their award winning physicians reports provide research of more than 600,000 physicians and include information such as education, disciplinary actions, patient surveys, and more.

Search, Find, and Compare
HealthGrades also provides search services to help you find and compare quality nursing homes in your area, look up hospital ratings, compare local doctors, or find qualified doctors in your area.

Click here to visit HealthGrades now.

What are the (cool, smart, well-matched, Google) ads on your site?

Do The Research added ads by google in order to do an even better job of bringing you the information you need. There are several ways to put ads on sites, but we chose to participate in Google's AdSense program and include Ads by Google on many of our site's pages because they do such an excellent job of figuring out which other sites you might want to visit. They do not spy on you! They use information in the pages at Do The Research to figure out which information to show you. It's called highly targeted advertising, and it helps us by generating some extra revenue while it helps you find well-matched information, so everyone wins. The advertisement links change automatically as the Internet changes and our site changes so that advertisements end up optimally current and matched. Isn't that smart? (Oh, if you find a page that doesn't have a good set of ads, please let us know! We can fix it by changing the words on the page a little.) If you'd like to find out more, or send Google feedback about the ads, click one of the links below.

What are those legal disclaimers?

The legal section was described in a previous post, Find Help With Legal Issues. Since then, we've received some questions about the disclaimers on some pages of that section. These disclaimers are part of working in the legal world and most of the ones at our site have a simple explanation.

In order to bring you the best law-related information and services, many of our featured resources allow you to resolve legal issues without consulting directly with an attorney. For example, if you generate a simple legal form online and use it, no lawyer will be directly involved (and you probably will save a ton of money as a result). Most of the disclaimers arise because of the obligation to remind you that it's always safest to consult an attorney about law-related matters. Therefore, it is a sign of a good legal-related site that a disclaimer is displayed!

The resources featured at Do The Research were selected after we made sure that they offer legitimate and useful services. Hundreds of thousands of people have used many of the resources without any problems (but we still need to include the disclaimers). We strongly encourage you to visit our directory and learn about and try them yourself.

Additionally, many of the resources make it easy to find a lawyer if you decide that would be better for your needs. We do, too. One of the favorite resources in the legal section is LegalMatch, a free service that helps people anonymously find matches to pre-screened attorneys that meet their needs. (Click here to read our directory information about them or see the ad below.)

Find a lawyer!

Lastly, you might have noticed that there have been some updates to the legal section recently. They're almost done and will be discussed in a couple of upcoming blog posts--so stay tuned!

New Ways to Find or Investigate Businesses

We deal with businesses everyday. Therefore, there often is a need to find or investigate businesses. In order to help you find the information you need, Do The Research features a business research section. Recently, we have been able to include even more resources to help you find or investigate businesses. Many of these resources started out offering ways to find or investigate people, but demand for business-related research grew and they added services to help people find or investigate businesses. The addition of these resources to our directory provided the opportunity to completely reorganize the section. Now it has the same easy to use format as our other newly updated sections. Resources are categorized to make it easy to find businesses, research businesses, and find pre-prepared business research reports. The updated business research section also has the popular features to view summary pages and open windows at featured sites. Click here to visit the new and improved business research section now.

Better Job Searches and New Careers

Recognizing the importance of good employment, the job search tips and resources section was one of our original information departments. Recently, it received a complete overhaul and facelift. Now, the job search section has the same friendly format as other new sections of Do The Research. The section also has improved job search tips and resources to help you optimize and streamline your job search and find employment. We also made it easier to research potential employers, so you'll prepared for interviews and know what you're getting into. We didn't stop there, though. We also included career assessment resources to help you evaluate career choices and, possibly, find a new career (and, we think, have some fun, too). Click here to visit the job search tips and resources section now. Here's a fun and very useful resource we found when researching the job search section!

Health Help - Coming Soon

In accordance with the Do The Research motto of helping you find the information you need, a new health help resources section will be added. How could we have overlooked such a vital information topic? We're not sure, especially as it was a target of our very earliest research projects, but we're making the suggestion one of our top priorities now.

Plans for the new section include carefully screened resources for medical information, medical advice, fitness help, and health news as well as carefully selected shopping sources for fitness equipment, vitamins, medical equipment, glasses and contacts, prescriptions, safe sex products, health insurance, and more.

There are a lot of unreliable and, frankly, unhealthy and dangerous sources of health information and products online. Our objective with the Health Help Resources section is to connect you quickly with only the most reliable resources for health-related information and health-related products.

Please share any ideas you have for this new section so we can provide you with the best, most complete set of resources to help you find the information you need for your health.

What should you do until this section is ready? We continued to recommend WebMD as a free source of all types of health-related information written for everyday consumer reading. Another important resource is HON, an organization that checks health-related sites for reliable, ethical practices. For more thorough searching and additional information, HON's new HonSelect search is our clear favorite for finding health-related information. They combine several information source types, indicate source reliability in your search results, make accessing common search topics easy, and much more. You also can download browser plugins for explorer or netscape, mozilla, firefox, sherlock and others that help you find and identify HON verified web sites.
